Next Communications: Who is keeping you from being a better communicator?

    Richie,

I still find, even 30 years into my PR career, the best investment I can make in my career is involvement in PRSA. I don't mean writing a check every year and saying I'm a member but really joining -- taking advantage of what's offered.

The way I do that has changed over the years but the networks I've created, the professional development I've attended and the books/speakers I've learned about through those relationships cannot be replaced.

Mary, thanks for pointing out the need to do more than just be a member of
an organization like PRSA. It is much more worthwhile if you carve out the
time to participate in the conversations, attend the events, and use the
networking time to learn and teach other PR professionals.
